Change and Project Professionals

Resilience for Change Practitioners – 60 minutes

The people leading change absorb pressure from every direction — supporting leaders, responding to concerns, managing competing demands and helping others navigate uncertainty. This hands-on, interactive session provides change practitioners with practical tools they can use immediately to manage their own stress, protect their energy, and stay effective under high pressure.

Leaders and Managers

Why People Resist Change (even when they agree with it) – 90 minutes

Your team agrees with the new direction, but they keep working the old way. Why? Drawing on Lisa Feldman Barrett’s research on the predictive brain, this session explores why unfamiliar situations can increase the brain’s workload and make change harder to act on, even when people support it.

Participants leave able to:

  • distinguish between resistance, uncertainty, and lack of understanding
  • recognize what may be driving an unhelpful response to change
  • adjust how they communicate and introduce new ways of working
  • use practical techniques to make change easier for people to absorb and act on

Hard conversations, restructures, and tight deadlines all trigger a stress response that narrows thinking. Participants learn how the nervous system reacts under pressure and practice short techniques they can use before a difficult meeting or during one. We focus on easy, practical changes that can be implemented immediately.

Keeping Wellbeing Intact Through Long Change – 90 minutes

In a lengthy transition, the energy can fade and engagement can become harder to sustain. Using Martin Seligman’s PERMA model as a practical framework, managers learn how to identify what their teams need to stay well and engaged.

Participants leave able to:

  • recognize early signs that people are losing energy or engagement
  • use a simple framework to check on team wellbeing
  • identify which aspects of wellbeing need attention
  • choose small, practical actions that help people stay connected, motivated, and able to sustain the change

Teams and All Staff

Clear Thinking in Uncertain Times – 60 minutes

Uncertainty creates information gaps, and our minds naturally try to fill them. during change, this can lead to assumptions, worry, and unhelpful conclusions. Drawing on cognitive behavioural approaches, this session helps participants recognize common thinking traps and learn simple techniques to pause, question their assumptions, and respond more constructively.

Participants leave able to:

  • recognize when uncertainty is driving unhelpful thinking
  • spot common thinking traps before they influence their actions
  • separate truth from assumptions
  • use simple techniques to regain perspective and focus on what they can influence

Letting Go and Staying In – 60 minutes

Some decisions are final, but accepting a decision does not mean giving up or agreeing with everything about it. This session helps people understand the difference between letting go of what they cannot change and staying engaged in what they can influence.

Participants leave able to:

  • recognize where they are spending energy on things they cannot change
  • distinguish acceptance from giving up
  • identify where they still have influence or choice
  • redirect their energy toward what they can do, contribute, and control

Best offered after a significant decision has been announced, with the framing and examples agreed with the client. Also suitable for leaders and managers.
